Industry Partners: All practical aspects of the AWN consultation program were developed through successful
collaboration with industry partners. Since AWN signed its first framework agreement with Weyerhaeuser in 1998, Aseniwuche Winewak Nation
has developed a strong network of industry partners from all aspects of the regional economy, ranging from power generation to
forestry to coal mining to oil and gas. AWN believes in long term relationship building with a focus on identifying common objectives and
effective communication. AWN has an innovative and committed Land and Resource Department which takes a lead role in working with industry
which is complemented by knowledgeable and committed community Elders. AWN has a consultation program which is the envy of aboriginal
communities across Canada or its effectiveness and efficiency.
